Good Bye Everyone

Just a quick note here that as of June 1, 2010, I will no longer be mediator for the Delaware Preppers Network. I will still be taking care of my other blogs which deal with survival but the demands of the times are simply too much for me. I would like to thank everyone who has made constructive comments on here as I view them towards making me a better prepper. I will on occasion provide articles relating to survival and prepping for inclusion in the blog. I have learned a lot here and have enjoyed both the information and the friendship. Once again thank you all.

Kitchen Herb Garden

If you have available yard or garden space, you can plant a kitchen herb garden . An ideal location would be a few steps from your kitchen, but any spot that gets about six hours of sun a day is good. Herbs can be added to any garden, and perennial herbs provide years of fresh herbs.

Having Bugs as a dinner guest

As you may suspect, there are many ways of preparing and cooking food procured in the wild. Often, we get lucky and bag a rabbit, or perhaps a squirrel. Yep, I know all about making Apache foot snares (often used for deer) and huge figure four traps, but lets be honest here, the odds are remote that you will feed on venison or bear in a survival situation. Most game procured will be small game, unless you have a gun along. It you have a gun and lot’s of game in the area, then this article isn’t for you. Most of us will have to settle for less for dinner.

How to Prepare Wild Rabbit

"How to Prepare Wild Rabbit" by Mark Gilchrist. Wild rabbits can decimate an unfenced garden and level every barely-edible piece of green. By killing and eating these rabbits, you not only protect the native vegetation; you get the nutrients from the plants they ate. Here are some tips on killing, preparing, and eating these animals. God upon creating man

April 30, 2010 - "God upon creating man" By Joseph Parish. There is an old tale which relates to how God determined the ages of creatures as he created several animals and even man himself to inhabit the earth. He began with the hard working but stubborn mule and then working up to man. Click here

Staying warm when Bugging out

April 20, 2010 - "Staying warm when Bugging out" By Joseph Parish. While I may use an RV for bugging out and since they generally come with a means of keeping warm much of what I am about to say would no longer apply to me. Unfortunately not everyone has a Motor home for a bug out vehicle so other methods must be employed. Click here

Dental Resolutions for Survivalists

April 8, 2010 - "Dental Resolutions for Survivalists" By Joseph Parish. When our survival situation deteriorates to the point where the infrastructure is no longer capable of supporting the medical profession as we know it, then alternative plans should be established to provide these vital services. There are several viable means by which we could successfully alleviate any problems of this nature. Click here

Political Joke

April 8, 2010 - I remember going to one of Obama's town hall meetings and heckling him from the back of the room as he was delivering a long speech. Finally Obama could stand it no longer so he pointed to me and said, "will that gentleman please stand up and tell the audience what he has ever done for the good of his country." "Well Mr. President," I said in a firm voice. "I voted against you in the last election."

Audio: Obama Calls NY Times Back to Emphasize He’s Not a Socialist

April 5, 2010 - "Audio: Obama Calls NY Times Back to Emphasize He’s Not a Socialist" Here is another flashback from the Obama Lie Library. This one was brought to you on March 10, 2009 here at Survival Training. Obama was so concerned that he had appeared to dismiss a question from New York Times reporters about whether he was a socialist that he called the newspaper from the Oval Office to clarify his policies. "It was hard for me to believe that you were entirely serious about that socialist question," he told reporters, who had interviewed the president aboard Air Force One on Friday. Click here
